The Eternals star explained: “I think if you had asked him, he would have felt like he got away with it. At the end of the show, when we find him in that cell, he’s getting ready. to be beheaded and he wants to be. He’s finished. The fact that he goes to the Wall is the greatest gift and also the greatest curse.”
“He has to go back to the place with all this history and live his life thinking about how he killed Dany [Queen Daenerys played by Emilia Clarke]and live your life thinking about Ygritte [played by Rose Leslie] die in his arms, and live his life thinking about how he hung Olly [Brenock O’Connor]and living your life thinking about all that trauma, and that… It’s interesting.”
George RR Martin confirmed earlier this year that a Jon Snow spin-off series was in the works, and it was Harington’s own idea to make one.
Writing about the project on his blog, Martin said: “Yes, there is a Jon Snow show in development. Yes, it was Kit Harington who brought us the idea.
“I can’t tell you the names of the writers/showrunners because it hasn’t been cleared for release yet…but Kit brought them in as well, his own team, and they’re great.”
Some Game of Thrones fans were left disappointed by the ending of the hit series.
